Social Media Manager Salary in Dubai (2026) vs Hiring an Agency: Which Costs Less?
Quick answer: A social media manager in Dubai earns about AED 6,500 a month on average in 2026, with mid-level managers on AED 8,000–15,000 and senior managers higher. Once you add visa, medical insurance, end-of-service gratuity and tools, a full-time hire usually costs a small business more than an agency package, which in Dubai typically runs AED 2,500–12,000 a month.

The real cost of hiring in-house
Salary is only part of it. When you hire a full-time social media manager in Dubai, you also pay for:
- Employment visa, Emirates ID and medical insurance. Required for every employee, and often several thousand dirhams a year.
- End-of-service gratuity. Under UAE labour law, 21 days’ basic salary for each of the first five years of service.
- Annual leave and a flight allowance, if it’s in the contract.
- Tools. Editing apps, a scheduling tool, stock music and design software. Budget roughly AED 300–600 a month (our estimate).
- Equipment. A good phone, lighting and a microphone for content.
- Gaps. One person can’t be a strategist, videographer, editor, designer and ad buyer all at once, and nothing gets posted while they’re on leave.
In-house vs agency: side by side
| Full-time hire | Agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | AED 6,500–15,000 salary, plus visa, insurance, gratuity and tools | AED 2,500–12,000, all-in (ad spend separate) |
| Skills | One person | A team: strategy, shooting, editing, design, ads |
| Commitment | Employment contract, notice period | Usually a 3-month minimum, then monthly |
| Holidays and sick days | Posting stops | Covered |
| Brand knowledge | Deep, lives in your business | Needs a good brief and regular check-ins |
| Best for | Larger brands posting daily across many platforms | Small and mid-size businesses that want consistent, professional content |
When hiring in-house makes sense
- You post daily across four or more platforms and need someone on site every day.
- You already have a marketing team and just need one more pair of hands.
- You can afford both a manager and a separate budget for shoots and ads.
When an agency makes more sense
- Your total social media budget is under about AED 12,000 a month.
- You need video production, design and ads, not just posting.
- You want to test before committing to a full-time salary and visa.
Many Dubai businesses do both: one in-house coordinator who knows the brand, with an agency handling shoots, editing and ads.
